Priests’ Training Fund – Second Collection

Next Sunday is Good Shepherd Sunday, the day we pray for priests and for vocations to the priesthood. The annual collection for the Priest Training Fund will take place next weekend. This fund pays for the priestly formation of men for the Catholic priesthood. There are currently 48 men studying at Allen Hall seminary, 14 of whom are from our own Diocese, and two studying in Rome. Last year 8 men who studied at Allen Hall were ordained to the priesthood to serve as our future priests. This fund also supports the ongoing enrichment and formation of our ordained priests. Your generous donation helps ensure we can support these men who are called to be like Christ the Good Shepherd. Donation envelopes are available at the back of the church. Please take one home, read the information, and bring it back next weekend with your donation. Please continue to pray for vocations and for our priests. You can use the QR code to make your donation online or visit www.rcdow.org.uk/donations. Thank you for your generosity.

Second Hand Premier Football Team Shirts needed!

Over the years the Aysanew Kassa Trust has supported really really poor children in the high school in Azezo, Ethiopia to complete their education.

In addition, they help the nuns who run a boarding school for blind and partially sighted children by providing a range of materials such as teachers for sport and It, laptops and digital recorders etc as well as small building projects such as a gazebo and sick bay. The children like our children are sports crazy especially football and can recite the names of most premier league team players! If you have any football tee shirts or sweatshirts that you no longer require Jean bailey will ensure that they get to the children...so please check your cupboards and drawers....Jean will pick them up from the church. Please hand them in to the sacristy after any Mass - Thank you

Lourdes Petitions:

On Monday, Fr Peter and a gallant brigade of St Mary’s parishioners will be going on pilgrimage to Lourdes. If you would like them to take your petitions to our Lady’s shrine, please post them through the presbytery letter box in an envelope marked “Lourdes”.

  • For the International Feast Day Mass at 11am – You are invited to come in your National Dress.

  • Please let Fr Peter know if you would like to read or say a prayer in a language unique to your culture.
