Agnes Day, RIP
Agnes died at home peacefully on Wednesday. Funeral details will follow in due course. In the meantime, let us keep her and her family in our prayers. May she rest in peace. Amen.
Patrick Jean “Noel” Louis-Auguste, RIP
The funeral Mass for Patrick Jean “Noel” Louis-Auguste will be on Thursday at 10 am. Noel is the brother of “Fifi” who attends the Sunday 8:30am mass. May he rest in peace. Amen.
Anne Gorman RIP
Anne died on 9th May at the Royal Free Hospital. Anne was a long-standing parishioner of St Mary’s. Her funeral will take place at St Mary’s on Tuesday at 10am. May she rest in peace.
Offertory Collections
The offertory collection for the week ending 19th May was £731.71 Contactless for week ending 19th May was £108.16. April 2024 – Standing Orders amounted to £3,386.00; Online Donations amounted to £97.00 and Online Stripe donations amounted to £9.80. Many thanks for your generosity.
Gift Aid Tax Refund 2021-2022
As a result of you agreeing to Gift Aid your offertory donations, St Mary’s was able to reclaim £12,929.24 for the tax year 2021-2022. If you are a tax payer and would like to Gift Aid your offertory collection, please contact the parish office.
Brother Sun, Sister Moon - Film Evening on Monday 27th May
Fr Peter writes: “I have booked the small hall for 7:30pm on Monday 27th May to show “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” – the 1972 film about St Francis and St Clare. It is rated PG (although there is some nudity when Francis rebels against his father and stands naked in the town square). All are welcome”.
Deacon Dom:
Fr Peter writes: “Good News! Deacon Dom will be ordained a priest by Cardinal Vincent at Westminster Cathedral at 10:30am on Saturday 29th June. You are all invited! Dom will celebrate his very first Mass as a priest, at St Mary’s on Sunday 30th June at 11am. If you would like to be part of a committee to help organise Dom’s party after his first Mass, please put your name on the “Fr Dom Party Sheet” at the back of the church. I will then call a meeting and we can start organising. Deacon Dom will join us for all Masses on Sunday 16th June.”
Pentecost Bingo!
Heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and supported the Pentecost Bingo event held last Saturday. Your presence and contributions made the event a great success. We raised £300 for charity and £300 for the parish. A great success! Special thanks to Mark & Christopher (Bingo callers), Patrizia for the delicious refreshments, the amazing Confirmation candidates, and the wonderful RCIA group.
First Holy Communions:
Next weekend the parish will celebrate First Holy Communions at the 10am and 12 noon Masses. All are welcome. Let us keep these special children and their families in our prayers.
Confirmation Mass
Bishop John will confer the Sacrament of Confirmation to some of our young people at a special Mass on Friday 14th June at 7pm. All are welcome.
Bl. Carlos Acutis
On Wednesday Pope Francis recognized a miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis, clearing the way for him to become the first canonized millennial in the Catholic Church. Carlo Acutis, born on May 3, 1991, in London, England, and died on October 12, 2006, in Monza, Italy and is known for his great devotion to the real presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. He is recognised as a Saint for the young.
