You might be considering returning to attend Mass at St Mary’s:
Fr Peter writes “It is so lovely to see people slowly return to Mass at St Mary’s. We are fortunate that our sacristans and stewards enable the church to be clean and with our windows open, we can provide good ventilation. If you are considering attending in person, please remember every day is a Sunday, arrive with your name and address written on a piece of paper to give to a steward and come warmly dressed.
Finance:
Fr Peter writes: “Thank you to everyone who has either increased their standing orders or arranged for one to replace their “loose plate Sunday offering”. Other ways to financially St Mary’s during the pandemic are on the back page of the newsletter. Please remember that I do not want those of you struggling at this time to feel under obligation to help, only those who might be able to increase their donations. Many many thanks.”
Foodbank Request:
The Foodbank would be grateful to receive extra supplies of UHT milk. Please drop your UHT milk deliveries in at the presbytery during office hours.
A Special Streamed Mass on Tuesday 23rd March:
Fr Peter writes: “The 23rd of March will be the anniversary of the first lockdown and the instigation of rules limiting the number of people allowed to attend a funeral. At 7:30pm on Tuesday 23rd March, I will celebrate astreamed Mass remembering all those who have died in the past year and will pray for those who have been bereaved. If you have a loved one who has died since 23rd March 2020 and you want them remembered, please email or hand in their name to me at the presbytery.”
Celebrity Priest Lent Talk:
Back by popular demand, another episode of “The Celebrity Priest” will be streamed on Tuesday at 7:30pm via www.saintmarys.online
When Saint Pope John Paul II visited England in 1982, this priest (before he was ordained) went to Wembley Stadium to turn his back on the Pope. The third episode of our lent reflections will focus on Prayer.
Lent Prayers:
Fr Peter writes: “I have re-introduced the practice of placing the names of those we wish to pray for during Lent on the wooden panels behind the tabernacle. Please email or hand in to the presbytery the names of those you wish to be remembered.”
Your Prayers:
Let us keep in our prayers: Michael O Boy, Lilian Murphy, and Danusia Lissowski – all unwell at this time.
We continue our prayers for all healthcare professionals, care home workers, those working in the community and all those with the coronavirus.
Sadly there will be a number of funerals in St Mary’s over the next few weeks. Please remember these special people in your prayers and pray for their families.

Tuesday 9th March: 9:30am: Requiem Mass for Maura Rowland McNamara RIP.
Monday 15th March: 10am: Requiem Mass for John Joseph Ryan RIP
Friday 19th March: 10am: Requiem Mass for Edward Reeks RIP
