Please take home a flyer and stick on your fridge as a reminder of what to donate. Thank you.

This week we are also continuing to appealing for new/nearly new pet accessories and more empty baskets to fill hampers.

Help us spread the word about our fair by putting up a poster in your front window and posting posters through your neighbour’s letterboxes. Posters are at the back of the church.

POSSIBLE CONFIRMATION COURSE:

Fr Peter will organise a Confirmation course for any young adults in year 9 at secondary school. For entrance onto the Confirmation programme they must regularly attend a weekend Mass at St Mary’s. The course needs a cohort of at least 12. Please see or contact Fr Peter if you are interested.

NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS

Blank forms are available at the back of the church for you to complete with the names of loved ones who have died. Put your list of loved ones into the brown envelope (also at the back of the church) and return either into the Holy Souls box (at the back of the church) or through the presbytery letterbox. The names of all our loved ones will be present on the sanctuary during this special month. The Annual Mass at St Pancras Cemetery will be held on Tuesday 19th November at 2 pm.

WEEKDAY MASS IN THE PRESBTERY MEETING ROOM

With the likelihood of a cold snap, the 10am weekday Mass may move into the meeting room attached to the presbytery. Fr Peter will need some volunteers to re-arrange the meeting room after Sunday’s 10am Mass.

MESSAGE FROM FR PETER:

Lately I have been feeling tired and had to take a few extra days leave last week. Doctors have told me to “step back” a little and “rest up”. So, I will defer a recruitment of Eucharistic Ministers and the reintroduction of the Precious Blood at Mass until I am “fighting fit”. You may also see a little more of “supply priests” over the next few weeks. I am a very impatient “lounger” so please keep me in your prayers.

SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS – SECOND COLLECTION:

Today’s second collection is for the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund. Please give generously and help ensure our sick and older priests are financially supported, having given us a lifetime of dedicated service. They have baptised us, welcomed us into the church, and offered comfort and prayer at times of sorrow. Now we have a chance to give back and ensure they have peace of mind during their senior years, when they may be facing failing health and declining mobility.

Please give generously using the envelopes in the church. You can make a one-off donation or also donate online at www.rcdow.org.uk/donations - the envelopes and posters feature a ‘QR Code’ that you can scan with a phone camera to give online. Many thanks.

ST MARY’S SAFEGUARDING MEETING:

You are invited to a Parish Safeguarding meeting on Monday at 7:30pm in the Parish Centre. This is a chance for you to ask questions and meet Eimir Read the Parish Safeguarding Representative
