Marjorie Reid RIP
It was with great sadness that we recently heard the news that Marjorie Reid, a well-known and longstanding parishioner of St Mary’s, had died. Many of you will remember Marjorie as a reader here at Sunday Mass. Her funeral will take place at St Mary’s on Monday 15th January at 10am. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen.
Luis Goncalves RIP
Luis died peacefully earlier this week. Many of you will know Luis because of his regular attendance at the 8:30am Mass on Sunday and his generous help with the allotment. Luis Requiem Mass will be at 10am on Friday 19th January. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

“Parish Safe Guarding” - Please Remember:
When taking your child to the bathroom in the porch, they must be accompanied by a parent or an adult member of the family. Thank you.
The Wall
Fr Peter writes: Finally, after four amazing years, repairs to the boundary wall between St Mary’s and the High Road have been finished. Break open the champagne!!! As you can see, turrets have been replaced, bricks repointed and weep holes cleaned. It is now secure and safe. Ironically, the week it was completed the neighbours garden wall collapsed (edging the presbytery garden). With the boundary wall repaired, I can now look to updating signage for the church and the parish centre. Once again, thank you to everyone who donated to the “Wall Fund Raising Project” particularly during the pandemic. As said, an amazing four years.
First Holy Communion Meetings
The next parents meeting to discuss First Reconciliations will be in the Parish Centre at 7:30pm on Tuesday. These meetings are mandatory for all parents. The First Reconciliation Programme and First Communion Programme will start for all children registered with Fr Peter at 3:45pm on Tuesday 23rd January.

Will Cappelli has kindly agreed to give another talk on a modern day challenge and the response of the Church. Will’s next talk will be on the view of the Church regarding the economic world. He will speak on Monday 5th February at 7:30pm in the parish centre.
