ST MARY’S CHRISTMAS FAIR - 2024
Our Christmas Fair will take place on Sunday 1st Dec 11am to 2pm. Something for everyone – carol singing, hot food and beverages. Lots of stalls - home-bakes; tombola; arts and crafts; books; jewellery; henna and glitter tattoos; pet accessories and much more. We’ve even secured a visit from Santa!
We particularly need bottles and chocolate for the Tombola; home-baked fruit cakes; and prizes for the raffle. Thank you.
This week we are appealing for two volunteers to come forward to run the Hamper Stall. Please see Fr Peter or email: Helensarahdoran@gmail.com
Next planning meeting is next weekend, 20 Oct, after the 10am mass in the blue hall. All are welcome.
ASSISTED SUICUIDE
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, President of the Bishops' Conference and Archbishop of Westminster, has issued a pastoral letter on assisted suicide that will be read in the churches of his diocese this weekend.
Referring to a private members' bill on assisted suicide that will be introduced to the House of Commons on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, the Cardinal offers three key points for you to be aware of, and calls on you to be fully engaged in the debate and to write to your MP to oppose assisted suicide being rushed into law.

Thanks to the Servers and Singers, Readers and Helen for enhancing the evening Masses andretreat sessions. Big shout out to Ria, Eric, Ruth, Albert, Lily, Aidan, Elliot, Angel, Leandre, and Grazziela for bringing the fun and fierce competition! After an exciting, nail-biting match, everyone refuelled with a well-deserved McDonald's feast, only to jump right back into action with some epic foosball battles! And guess what? The fun’s not over—next up is a popcorn and pizza movie evening on Sunday 17th November – details to follow…
