SECOND COLLECTION FOR THE LITTLE SISTERS OF THE POOR
After all Masses on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th September there will be a second collection for the Little Sisters of the Poor. The special work of the Little Sisters is to look after the aged poor. In the Diocese of Westminster, they run a residential care home in Stoke Newington called St Anne’s.
CAFOD – SECOND COLLECTION 5TH/6TH OCTOBER 2024
After all the Masses on the weekend of 5th/6th October, there will be a second collection for CAFOD Family Fast Day. Envelopes are available at the back of the church. Thank you in advance for your support of this worthy cause.
Fr Peter writes: “The Parish Retreat is a new venture which I hope will inspire and encourage. The host is Our Lady, and at 7:30pm each evening we will gather to ask her prayers and listen to a visiting priest as he unpacks the “Our Father.” Each evening we will salute Our Lady with candles and sing the Magnificat.
If you look at the time-table it is designed to provide an opportunity for us to separate our day into three periods of reflection – Morning, Lunch-Time and Evening. We will all follow a rite of Morning Prayer whether at home, at work or in church. The lunch-time session will be in church but also “live streamed” and for the evening we are all invited to St Mary’s as set out by the timetable below”
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
Are you an adult thinking about becoming a Roman Catholic? Or are you a Catholic adult who has not made your First Holy Communion or Confirmation or just not made your Confirmation? If so, please get in touch with Fr Peter either by email, or a telephone call or after Mass.
The first meeting for those interested will be Tuesday 1st October at 7:30pm in the house next door to the Church – called “The Presbytery”. Please let Fr Peter know if you wish to attend.
