PHYLLIS CONROY RIP

Sadly, Phyllis died in August. Her funeral Mass will at 10am on Thursday 12th September. Phyllis was a lovely gentle person who was a great support to Fr Dom and Fr Peter. May she rest in peace.

 

PETER KRAUSER RIP

On Sunday 15th September at the 10am Mass we will have a chance to remember and pray for Peter. Peter was a beautiful reader at Mass and led many Alpha courses at St Mary’s. The Mass will not be too different, but will provide a chance to hear about Peter and to pray for him.

 

OFFERTORY COLLECTIONS

Week ending 21st July – Offertory was £612.91. Contactless was £95.39.

July 2024 Standing Orders - £3,561.00, Online Donations - £310.00 and Stripe donations - £9.75.

BACK TO SCHOOL MASS:

There will be a special 10am Mass on Sunday 8th September for children and young adults starting new schools or year groups or colleges. Please bring something new that you will use in your school or college.Each child or student will then be given the chance to pick out a Saints medal to carry or wear during the year.

 


 

ST MARY’S SENIOR CITZEN TRIP TO KENWOOD HOUSE – MONDAY!

Admittedly it is on Monday after the 10am morning Mass, but a chance to enjoy Kenwood, the weather(hopefully) and a cup of tea. Transport will be provided by parishioners. If you would like to come, please sign the sheet at the back of the church.  

 

 

🎳 St. Mary’s Youth Group Outing! 🎳

 

Help us launch our Youth Group in style with a bowling trip!

📅 Date: Sunday, 22nd September

🕑 Time: 2:00 PM

We’re inviting all Y7 to Y13 students who are interested in joining a fun and exciting youth group. Come along, share some laughs, and show off your bowling skills! Food at MacDonald’s afterwards!

 FETE AT ST MARY’S

St Mary’s Christmas Fete will be on Sunday 1st December. To help prepare, please drop off at Church any baskets, empty jars or Bottles (within date) for the tombola!

 

ALTAR SERVERS

Rather important…, would you like to be an Altar Server? Not only would you be helping Fr Peter but most importantly you would be serving the Risen Lord. What better service could you do? If you want to be an Altar Server and have made your First Holy Communion please get your parents to sign your name to the “sign up” sheet at the back of the church.

 

Fr Peter writes: “A St Mary’s Parish Retreat: Any time for reflection and instruction is good. I am going to put the parish into “retreat” from Sunday 6th – Sunday 13th October. I have asked a number of priests to help: Fr Michael O’Boy, Canon Robert Plourde, Canon Mehall Lowry, Fr Patrick Van Der Voorst and Fr Howard James. It will be a week when we build some collective prayer and instruction into our daily routine. I would be grateful if you could mark this time in your diaries as a special week and I will provide more details and a timetable very soon.”

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION REGISTRATION

If your child is baptised, is in year 3 (or above) and you would like them to make their First Confession and First Holy Communions at St Mary’s in 2025, please ask Fr Peter for a “First Communion Registration Sheet” after one of the Sunday Masses. Registration for this programme will remain open for the next few weeks.

 

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Are you an adult thinking about becoming a Roman Catholic? Or are you a Catholic adult who has not made your First Holy Communion or Confirmation or just not made your Confirmation? If so, please get in touch with Fr Peter either by email, or a telephone call or after Mass. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults begins in September!
